Just Read Winterbottom excluded from R8

I'VE JUST READ ON V8 SUPPER CARS THAT
V8 Supercar Stewards have excluded the results of Mark Winterbottom, Steve Richards and Steve Johnson from race eight of the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship,
The exclusion of the results also affects the Championship points standings, with the removal of Winterbottomâ

Proof the organisation is biased. I bet you there were holden teams that did the same thing without getting disqualified!!!!

Sorry everyone - Mistakes happen and we made a mistake with the fitment of the brake roters on both cars. It was not a performance enhancing thing it was just an error on our side.

All our attention now turns to improving our car speed for QLD. It seems that we lacked pace in NZ but that was also made look a lot worse by the brilliant effort by 888. When a team performs that well they should be congratulated!!

Heads up - we will find a way to win.

I could understand a single team getting it wrong, but how does a second team also get it wrong and only on one car?

I think it didn't deserve being omitted from the results though.

Things have to put in perspective i think a little clearly there was no performance gain as the clossest offendor was Steve Johnston in 5th, i think a 10 point penelty would have been more fair rather than stripping the three cars of all there points for that race, i guess one consilation is that it happend on a low point scorring race, would have been harder to swollow if winterbottom was in first or second, go get em in QLD next round guys i'll be there cherring youse on!

just read the rotor issue....... yes the point loss sucks but if it was really a mistake...... and its easy to judge from the lounge room........ but dead set that is amature. One of your best starts to the season and a mistake cost our lead driver a spot.
i would rather it be intentional at least you are trying something. From an avid supporters point of view FPR have to stop these mistakes and use 888 as model on how to do things, with Cambel Little there you have the best starting point. Sorry if have pissed any one off but that is my 2 bob worth. You have the drivers, the car and the engineers surly a win must be comming soon

    Hi all,

Thanks for your feedback on this rather silly issue. Wether it was a mistake or not is no longer the issue. The issue is we are now 3rd, 10th and 22nd in the championship and that is not good enough based on our own goals and those of our supporters.

Having just finished a team debrief we are clearly focused on the next event in Queensland. We are strong there and we hope that we can continue our strong start to the championship. All is not lost after one poor round!!

Heads up. We will deliver to the best of our ability in 2010.

I understand that mistakes are made, but there has been several that has ended up costing championship points. Maybe a better look at you risk management regarding past issues, put systems in place to prevent reoccurance. Best of luck for Queensland and here is hoping for the first win of the year of a Ford and obviously close the gap to Whincup.

With all the checks, controls and process's in place within a Team like FPR / Prodrive it is very hard to understand how the brake rotors could be fitted incorrectly. Seems real weird also, that the same thing happened to 1 x DJR car......
Anyway , moving forward, there is no need to keep mentioning that FPR should model their cars on Team Vodofone 888. Prodrive have more than enough expertise to build a winning car and I am sure that is exactly what David Richards has been telling Mr Edwards.
Not sure if this is already happening, but a collective front between FPR / SBR/ DJR to build a bunch of cars with the best ideas from the industry experts ( remember SBR were so dominant in the Ambrose era).
Keep at it FPR......keep focussed and stay true to your goals, it will come in time.....whinge Cup will fall from grace sooner or later.
    Cheers Mr Ford
